Wole Soyinka é um escritor nigeriano nascido em Abeocutá, na Nigéria, em 1934, que foi o primeiro negro e o primeiro africano a ser agraciado com o Prémio Nobel de Literatura em 1986. Considerado o dramaturgo mais notável da África, as suas obras incluem também poesia, romances e ensaios.

Autobiografia – “The Man Died: Prison Notes” (1972), “Aké: The Years of Childhood” (1981) e “You Must Set Forth at Dawn” (2006). Ensaio – “Myth, Literature, And The African World” (1976). Poesia – “Idanre and other poems” (1967), “Poems from Prison” (1969), “A Shuttle in the Crypt” (1972), “Ogun Abibiman” (1976) e “Mandela’s Earth and other poems” (1988).

A única obra editada em Portugal é o romance “Os Intérpretes”.
